Bridge not connecting to router

you will need to check your Hyper-V configuration to ensure the XG interfaces are talking to the Hyper-V interfaces.

I think the hyper v configuration works.  The first time I installed the firewall, my laptop was connected to the firewall lan port and the firewall wan was connected to the switch, and it worked - I was able to get internet but not when the wan was connected to the router.  After, I decided to reinstall.  All of the reinstallations did not work like the first time.  LAN seems to work fine, if plug the lan port in the switch whee my laptop is plugged into, I can access the firewall and other local computers.

I will recheck the wan adapter when I get a chance but I am almost certain it works.

I've spent all afternoon and evening trying to get the wan up.  So eager to get everything in place.

I get internet on the server the VM is hosted on actually, which is really good news, but internet won't go through lan to switch but I can reach the web management local ip

Edit: I think if has something to do with 'allow management operating system to share this network adapter' switched on through Hyper V

Sorry - I did not see your post above my latest reply as I was on mobile.  How would I be able to determine if the WAN has an uplink?

This is what I have seen -

additionally, on the VM's host which can successfully connect to the internet as I have it enabled for the OS to share the WAN port (in my previous reply), I cannot login in to my router that passes through the internet to the server (192.168.1.1)

you appear to have the XG in bridge mode and the red dot indicates that the link is down.

How would I be able to get the link on?  Do I have to edit anything after a fresh install? or make any new policies, like is it locked down by default?  Thank you

Hi Kolt,

the link is not down by default, it implies that the WAN check cannot access the reference network, please check NETWORK -> WAN link Manager to see what it is using as a check point.

Now, why are you using the XG in bridge mode?

I will check this first thing tomorrow.  I am using the XG in bridge mode as I would like to take advantage of the firewall/intrusion protection system while still using my own router (Unifi Gateway).

Hello - here are some screenshots I got of the management panel.  Still no link to the internet but the LAN side seems to be working properly.  I am still puzzled why this is not working, frustrating but I am still trying

also I am using the Unifi gateway in combination with my other Unifi access points.

Hi,

what you have shown indicates there is no connection between the XG and the Unifi gateway.

You can still use the Unifi gateway behind the XG and gain the protection you are after.

Hello, I have decided to do that - put the USG behind the XG.  Right now, without the USG, XG is working great acting as the main router, certainly a lot of configuration for advanced stuff but learning and trying it out is the purpose.  Now it's all about integrating the USG between the XG and the rest of the network which comes new problems as I have to do some advanced configuration to place the USG in 'transparent mode' to for the internet to pass through it, which I am going to try tomorrow.
