Am I on a free licence (home user) or not?

Hi,

 

I have today received an email telling me that my Firewall XG will expire in 7 days, I thought it was free for home users?

How can I resolve this please? I have tried online chat and they directed me to call so I called and they told me to ask on here.

Any help greatly appreciated!

  • Your Appliance models should contain a "Home" (H) in it. If you have a SFunlimited, it is likely the business model for 30 Days. 

    Check your Serialnumber and your current model.

    Thanks for your reply, this is what I see, it has an H in it?

    SFVH (SFOS 18.0.0 GA-Build354.HF052220.1)

     

    I will re-install tonight with a home licence and restore the backup as I understand changing the licence is not possible.

    Maybe your Appliance couldnt communicate to the Licensing Backend for a While?

    There is a rare issue with the virtuell License, that the Appliance changes the Device ID and Sophos Licensing Backend server cannot verify this XG anymore. So it will be turned off after 90 Days.

    Sorry, but what do you mean looks good? do you mean my licence looks like it is a home edition and it will not stop working? or I still need to re-install? I really do not know how to check, I contacted Sophos and they told me to post on here as they could not help? is there a way of checking?
