VPN + MSTSC

XF 106w (17.5 MR8)

Just today, been noticing that when a VPN connection is made, MSTSC to a desktop computer is 'hit and miss', mainly miss'.

This has been working fine without this problem for 5 weeks plus. Firewall was last re-started 5 days ago (As recommended by Sophos, due to vulnerability).

Hi Paul Digby

Is it an SSL VPN? We have not received any such issue from other clients, I would request you to take packet capture when the user not able to take RDP. If you could share a configuration screenshot of VPN to check the configuration.

As I say, its is intermittent. Over the week-end, I was going to re-start Firewall.

This afternoon, I connected with VPN, ran MSTC and could not reach (no ping either). Failed a few more times. Then, tried later and it worked. Ping also worked.

Its more like its not just MSTSC but no networking available. Then for no reason (or changes), it then works, MSTSC, Ping etc.

Is the subnet at home the same as in the office? I have seen sometimes with certain cable modems (or the routers they provide) where it doesn't pass along traffic properly.

I understand your concern but we required to check with packet capture when traffic is not passing or not able to reach to narrow down the issue.
