Home to Enterprise License

I'm wanting to confirm a licensing question.  If I build my own appliance and install XG Home on it to get it up and running, can I then purchase a commercial license for it, or are commercial licenses only for actual Sophos XG branded appliances?

    Hi  

    You can purchase what is a called "Software XG" license.  This will enable you to install SFOS onto any hardware you choose.  However if you install using the Home license, you will need to reinstall from scratch when migrating to the enterprise license.

    So, when I install SFOS, I need to do a "Trial" license and then I can simply add the enterprise license afterwards?  What happens to the appliance if the trial license runs out before I get an Enterprise license?  I assume that it will fall down to just the base firewall functionality.  Is that a correct assumption?
