BIOS freeze on SG135, is this repairable?

Hi,

My SG135 stopped working and does not boot anymore. I connected the device to a monitor and all I see is a BIOS screen with a 99 code on the bottom right.

After that nothing happens and there is no response when hitting the DEL or ESC on the keyboard. I can see green LED's lighting up inside the device, but the bios screen freezes and nothing else happens.

Is my SG135 repairable?

(it is out of the warranty period)

  • Hi MKR74,

If you see code 99, the CPU is working. You must first do a factory reset. The problem may be with RAM, SSD or motherboard. RAM or SSD can be replaced. I had a similar problem with XG125 but it didn't display any code, it didn't display anything. It had a damaged CPU and had to be replaced (it was under warranty).

  • Hi Jan,

How do I perform a factory reset?

  • Hi,

You need to turn off the power. Connect monitor and keyboard. Then press the reset button on the housing and turn on the power. Keep the reset pressed for about 30 seconds similar to the video www.youtube.com/watch Then release the reset button. If the menu appears on the screen, you need to select option 2 ... If the menu does not appear, there is a major hardware problem. You can replace the RAM, disconnect the SSD and keep trying.
