BIOS freeze on SG135, is this repairable?

Hi,

My SG135 stopped working and does not boot anymore. I connected the device to a monitor and all I see is a BIOS screen with a 99 code on the bottom right.

After that nothing happens and there is no response when hitting the DEL or ESC on the keyboard. I can see green LED's lighting up inside the device, but the bios screen freezes and nothing else happens.

Is my SG135 repairable?

(it is out of the warranty period)

    Hi,

    You need to turn off the power. Connect monitor and keyboard. Then press the reset button on the housing and turn on the power. Keep the reset pressed for about 30 seconds similar to the video www.youtube.com/watch Then release the reset button. If the menu appears on the screen, you need to select option 2 ... If the menu does not appear, there is a major hardware problem. You can replace the RAM, disconnect the SSD and keep trying.

    Hi Jan,

     

    I did the reset, but I got no menu on the screen.

    RAM: I swapped the RAM from a working SG125 (4Gb) and the BIOS came up and still freezes

    HDD: I disconnected the SSD and the power of the SSD, but the BIOS came up and still freezes

    Hi MKR74,

    Have you tried resetting CMOS as lferrara wrote?
    If nothing helps, it is possible that there is a problem with the motherboard.

    Hi Jan en Iferrara,

    I did the BIOS reset (removing battery and press power button for minimum of 15 seconds), but it did not help. I also swapped RAM and SSD from another (working) SG125 and it did not help.

    I suspect you are right about the motherboard.

    Is this motherboard repairable by a normal computer shop maybe?

    No. You need to buy another XG or SG HW. Finding that motherboard is impossible, as the HW is very custom.
