SFOS 17.5.4 MR-4-1 with Server 2012 R2 Essentials Anywhere Access

So I'm unsuccessfull setting up anywhere access on a Server 2012 R2 Essentials, initial setup using the dashboard.

Tried every business application combination I can think of but it seems the firewall is dropping some traffic on rule 0 with "Invalid traffic".

The setup guide on the server says port 80 and/or port 443 is blocked (it is not).

I'm pretty sure I got it working way back when we were on version 16 or earlier but I'm failing hard now.

Has anyone completed the anywhere access wizard on version 17.x?

  • Right now it's a simple DNAT rule, no filtering.

Nothing is activated in the Advanced section.

    "Rewrite source address" is off.

I can connect to IIS on both port 80 and 443 over the internet but the Anywhere Access setup wizard errors out with "Anyehere access to your server is blocked (refering to port 80 and 443).
