Sophos XG125 Routing

Looking for some guidance.......

My company just bought a small mfg company and we are in the process of on boarding them. They have a Sophos XG125, and we would like to setup VPN tunnel back to the Corp. Office.

The VPN part seem straight forward and shouldn't be an issue.

My concern is that there is no Layer 3 device behind the firewall. There is a lancom GS2352p which seem to be layer 2 only.

My question is can the XG125 do any routing? Normally I would throw a layer 3 device on the other side of the firewall. But since the XG125 is also the AP Controller trying to figure out the best process.

Hello Mark Steinbach,

It does seem you wish to connect a VPN with another L3 device with VPN IPsec site to site capability. XG has to be gateway mode to connect with such device and connect a channel between them. As for routing, yes it should allow the traffic between two defined networks.
