File Protection: How to quarantine attachments?

as far as i know, the current firmware can only strip the attachments and deliver the "plain" mail.

Deleted means rejected at smtp time. 

Fileprotection is not able to quarantine Attachments. If you start using File Protection, Mails having a mentioned Attachment are dropped irreversibly.

So this is a showstopper using the Sophos XG for several of our customers.

What may be a solution for that?

If a customer / Partner requires such a Feature, i most likely move them to Central Email. 

Central Email Offers such a feature (and much more) and is easy to integrate with a XG. 

XG has, like Christian already explained, not this feature in the current Firmware.
