I have checked the site and it does not advise as to NIC type, but being designed for home use/consumer I would suspect one NIC will be i219 which is not supported by XG software.

Also please be aware that the I3 is only a dual core.

Thanks for the info. The i3 with dual cores would have been enough for the home use of this firewall.
With the chipset you are right, it will probably be so. I'll get another calculator. Do you have a recommendation? He should be small and consume little power, optimally would be fanless. Two NICs are enough.
Is there a compatibility list, which I have to watch out for, so that I do not face such a problem again?

I have a celeron j1900, 6gb (8gb installed), 120gb ssd and 4 ports (all working) sitting around as a spare at the moment. The using is finless and runs about 10w. I toolkit out of service because I found the GUI too slow otherwise it is an excellent unit.

I bought mine from Ali express, similar to the one in the link below.

Hi Thorsten,

interesting exercise with my spare box. I thought I bought a celeron J1900 with 4 i211at NIC, but according to the UTM 9.6 beta installation I bought an e3845 with different Intel NICs, The odd part is the performance of the CPU appears to be the same.

So, a little puzzled but it does work with both UTM and XG.

I have chosen this variant, here should the NICs be supported:

Now it is also a quad-core processor. I'm curious if the WLAN module is supported by the XG. However, 2 AP55 should be added anyway.

Hello Ian,
the hardware should now be compatible, alledrings aborts the installation with the following error:

Installing Loaderfor appliance SF01V_SO01 .ERROR: Unable to load Loader

Did you already have the problem? I've read that the 8GB of RAM, of which the XG Home will of course only use 6GB, is a problem with the installation. I have now ordered extra for the time of installation nor a 2GB RAM and hope that is really the problem...
