  • Is this a Telstra Business Broadband service? If so it's provisioned with a Static IP (static IP assigned via DHCP request).

Also, which modem do you have? The Gateway Pro (rebadged Netgear 7610 - black box, reclining back a bit) or the Smart Modem (light grey box)?

The Smart Modem can be put in bridge mode, which allows your XG Firewall to perform the DHCP request and get the Static IP. You'll lose 4G backup capability and voice ports of the Smart Modem though.

The Gateway Pro cannot be put into bridge mode so the best thing to do is toss it in the bin and get a decent VDSL modem (like a Draytek Vigor v130) and put it in bridge mode. (The Gateway Pro, like the Netgear DEVG2020 that Telstra used for DOT services, completely sucks due to crappy firmware and just makes your life a misery).
