Reboot/Shutdown HA

Hi,

I am studying the HA configuration to buy 02 appliance and I was wondering, what happen when I login in the primary and reboot them? Will the auxiliary take over?

This happen in shutdown too ?

Thanks

  • But why not reboot auxiliary device and then primary device? This gives one short interuption and most people won't complain about downtime? This is the way I would do it.

  • Hi Jelle,

Thank you. I agree with you. Reboot the auxiliary and quickly reboot the primary. All connections will be flushed.

I have other question, in Active/Passive. The primary was shutdown and the auxiliary take over. When I turn on the appliance was shutdown, this appliance will boot as auxiliary and keep as auxiliary or will boot as auxiliary and in the next hours take over and became as primary ?

    Thank you.

  • Hello

Say if your device 'A' is primary and you reboot or shutdown it your auxilory device 'B' will be promoted to primary and will remain primary till it does not fail.
