Load Average

Hey guys,

Each night at somewhere between midnight and 2am my XG load average spikes.

We are not here at night so no users would be in the system and I cant think of any batch jobs etc that might run at 12 - 2am.

How can I find out what is loading the XG up at this time each day?

Running an XG230 with latest Firmware. I do have a couple of Web Policies and IPS policies running  - but again weird its in the wee hours when traffic should be at its lightest.

  • Hi Ian,

I had a look at my XG and the spikes occur around report and backup generation times. I have a daily backup generated.

The spike doesn't show in the load, just the CPU graph though.

  • Thanks Ian,

I only have a weekly back up to email set on a Monday night at about Midnight.

    No scheduled reports.

Its weird though as its a wee spike daily at the lowest point when no users would be online.
