The Serial number is not valid for the Product

Hi I got a XG Home serial from the main webpage, the ISO failed to find the VMware harddisk in any mode, SCSI, SATA, IDE so I downloaded the VMware Image (VI-SFMOS_17.0.0_GA.VMW02-99.zip) from mySophos as directed by support earlier. I have been trying to activate but the log tells me I have a wrong serial for the product. Can anyone help please?

Thanks

  • Hey

It looks like you downloaded the VMware image for Sophos Firewall Manager (SFM).

As per the Sophos Home XG page, the home XG version is to be used with "Intel compatible computer with dual network interfaces."

Here is the download page provided after you sign up:

  • Thanks, very strange, I had downloaded SW-SFOS_17.0.6_MR-6-181.iso from a link provided but had trouble with it detecting VM harddisks. I will look for this iso and see what happens.

  • Trying that image on VMware resulted again in it not being able to detect any type of harddisk either.

What i have done so far is import the VI-SFMOS_17.0.0_GA.VMW02-99 virtual machine settings, delete 2 network adaptors, add a cdrom and mount the XG iso.

It is now picking up the primary 160gb harddisk from that, hopefully the installation goes ok!

  • Thats what i was told to do in the first place I have just read it again please delete this thread.

Everything went well after i deleted the 32gb disk from the firewall image.

Its 4am i'd better head to bed and configure it tomorrow, only 4 hours sleep yesterday, can't even follow simple instructions...
