Safe Search Enabled on the applience but the youtube videos got error " This video is restricted. Try signing in with a Google Apps account. "

how can i resolve this isuue

    Be aware, Google Apps login is not the same as Google / YouTube standard login. You must sign up for Google Apps and set a corporate policy, etc.

    This SafeSearch setting has become a pain in the posterior.... I am sure it will be fixed in XG v99 :-)

    Only other choice is to set up special firewall rule to bypass IPS, Web Policy and Scanning - that is - trust your life to everything on YouTube with no restrictions except what you can do with a firewall rule (hosts/users/zone/network/device/hours).

    We have a specific rule which has been working OK for some time but the last few days it has been hit and miss. This is causing chaos in the class room. Even I, as admin on the network get the blocked messages then next time I go I get straight through.

     

    We need a fix for this.

    You don't mention what device is experiencing this issue, so I'm not sure whether this will help you. I was seeing this error on our Chromebooks that we've recently begun to deploy, when they would try to view some videos we had linked to for our Employee Orientation. The videos pertained to identifying incidents of abuse (in a nursing home environment) so the individual that posted the videos had apparently applied 'Restricted Mode' to the videos.

    There is a setting the Google Admin / GSuite portal that controls whether or not to enforce this Restricted Mode on YouTube. I changed the setting from “Enforce at least Moderate Restricted Mode on YouTube” to “Do not enforce Restricted Mode on YouTube" and the Chromebooks were then able to view the videos.

    In the Google Admin portal, the setting is located under Devices > Chrome Management > User & Browser settings. and then under the 'Content' section, the setting is titled "Restricted Mode for YouTube" and the setting should be set to "Do not enforce Restricted Mode on YouTube" to allow videos to play that 'Restricted Mode' set on them.

    Hopefully this will help someone else that is encountering the error.

    I've seen this same problem a few times when Youtube restricted/moderated mode is turned on under the web policy.

    Well, I don't know suddenly but happened to my YouTube. Its shows "this video is restricted try signing in with g suite account" this error if you have any suggestion please let me know.
