How to disable an interface without loosing the configuration?

this is currently not possible in the GUI.

You "can" play with the ethtool / ipconfig and disable the interface at all, but it is not recommended. 

Just screenshot your config.

I had to do a restore, but that didn't cover the lost values. Having done restart after the restore the XG is performing normally. Something has gone wrong with the formatting.
