Gateway DHCP_PortB_GW Came Up

I get periods of time where I get dozens of these emails in a relatively short period of time, despite nothing obvious changing in my home network environment. It's a VM installed on Hyper-V installed for testing and practice.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how I stop it, or at least stop it notifying me?

  • This is caused by the Failover Rules under Configure > Network > WAN Link Manager > DHCP_PortB_GW. If you don't want to get this alert, set the failover rule to ping one of your local interfaces instead. This way, it will never fail.

  • Well I changed it to another host on the lan, and that didn't help. It's completely random. I just got 3 in 5 minutes and nothing for 18 hours since.  It's very frustrating. I wish I could just turn it off. Interestingly I have just tried to login to the web interface and it's not responding. It's not responding to a ping!

I've just determined the cause of all of this is the appliance is hard resetting! Need to open another post for that.
