not registered with C2DM Service, trying to register...

Hi 

I cannot register my device Huawei Mate 9 (Android 7.0). The following is displayed in the device log

  • Is this the first Android Device?

    Can you make sure SMC Server can get to android.googleapis.com and gcm-http.googleapis.com via HTTPS?

    Quote from the documentation, for the device please check

    For communication between the Android device and the Google Cloud Messaging Server, connectivity
    with GCM has to be allowed. The following ports need to be open: 5228, 5229 and 5230. GCM
    typically only uses 5228, but sometimes 5229 and 5230 are used.

  • No, we have already connected many other Android Devices. This is the only one making problems. But it’s to say that it is our first Android 7.0 device.

  • What device are you trying? Is it a Samsung? or Pixel?

    I haven't seen this issue yet.
    At which step does the registration process stop? Are you able to scan the QR code?
    Is the device administrator activated for the SMC app?

    What Android version is used on the Huawei device?

    If the issue persists, I suggest you raise a support request with us and provide a server and client log file.

    The registration and installation of SMC proceeds without problems. Only, the synchronisation functions but once (upon installation). At least that’s what the device is reporting. Afterwards the device cannot synchronize anymore although it is in accordance with the (technical) terms.

     

    The device administrator is activated for the SMC app and the Huawei uses Android 7.0.

    maybe the device didn't register correctly with GCM. Maybe you could try these steps?

    - Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> All
    - Select "Clear data" for "Google Play services" and "Google services framework"
    - Temporarily unlink your Google account from the phone
    - Reboot the phone
    - Re-associate your Google account
    - Wait a few minutes
    - Resync SMC
    - If re-syncing does not help, re-enroll SMC

    Maybe this helps.
