Will turn on Data control policy will slow down your network traffic?

Does anyone had experinece about network traffic slow down when data control policy turned on?

    a network share drive

    is not considered as "outside" (or a potential path to the outside), thus DLP/DC does not apply as only the device types Floppy, Optical and Removable Storage and certain applications are destinations subject to control.

    Do you just assume it is DLP or have you verified it by turning of DC scanning? It might be the regular on-access scanning is causing noticeable delays especially when you scan on both the endpoint and the share's host and with scan on write/rename enabled. What's "behind" the share - just a folder on a server-local disk or some "advanced" storage?
