alert generated on scan but quarantine manager empty

I'm running Sophos Anti-Virus Home Edition version 9.1.5 for Mac OS X version 10.7.5.

I had an alert generated by an email but was unable to unlock the Quarantine Manager to clean up the threat.

I rebooted and restarted everything and now I can unlock the QM but it is EMPTY.

I ran the full scan of my disk and it is still reporting an alert but the QM is still EMPTY.

What's going on?  What should I do?

  • I am having a similar issue. However when the threat was initially alerted to, it seemed to overload the memory trying to clean it up and required a force quit and reboot. Upon restart I was immediately alerted to the threat and it appeared to clean it up.

However, I have been constantly receiving a notification that there is a discovered threat (including when running a scan, though it only lists it as an "issue" in a scan) and either the Quarantine Manager is empty when I open it. Or it looks like the threat is needing to be cleaned out but when I put my password in to unlock the options, it magically disappears.

I don't know what to do, but this is incredibly annoying and frustrating.

  • Gentlefolk,

may I remind you that the HE has its dedicated boards at SophosFreeTalk? I'd suggest to consult the Mac tools help first.
