  • Hello F1,

it simply means that updating failed. As the client does not request RMS this looks like either the standalone version (downloaded from Sophos) or a custom standalone package. It is set to update from Sophos - did you configure this and are you using the correct credentials?

More information about the error is in the ALUpdate log (depending on your OS version in the [%ProgramFiles%|%ProgramData%]\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Logs\ folder).

  • Hi Christian,

I checked that, and yes, it is a subscription problem.

Ill deal with that easily -  thank you!

  • Christian,

My work is providing me with download v2.5.7

    Is that too old?

    No luck for me yet....

    Thanks

  • Hello F1,

    download v2.5.7

what is this? Where do you see this information - could you please post a screenshot or a log snippet where you see this information. I have no idea which product or component this version refers to.

  • Hi Christian,

I have looked, but not sure where i got that info.

I have tried everything posted on this forum, no luck getting the updater to start the process.

Maybe Ill give up on XP, and move onto Windows 7 - that might do it.

  • Hello F1,

the problem is likely not related to the OS - please try to find the relevant log I've mentioned previously. The same reason preventing it from updating on XP might do so on any other OS.
