Endpoint Security and Control v9.5 causing USB camera application to fail

Hi,

I have a customer that uses Endpoint Security and Control v9.5, and they have recently installed some graphics software that captures images from a USB connected camera.  When Sophos in installed this capture process fails with various errors, when I remove Sophos it works perfectly.  Does anyone have any similar experience or solutions?  (USB device detection is Off)

    are there any alerts or errors in SAV.txt? If not you should contact Support and let them have a look at this application.

    Sorry for not returning to the forum for a week.  The graphics software is now having trouble even without Sophos.  I will be on site this week to look at it.  I figure I will run the graphics machine as a locally configured client, and then turn features on and off until I figure out which element is causing the USB device to report errors.  During that process there may be some action recorded in the logs.  Where exactly do I find these log files?

  • SAV.txt (assuming it is related to the Sophos scanner) is found in [%ProgramData%|%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data]\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Logs. All other logs (except for the AutoUpdate logs on pre-Vista OSs) are in the vicinity.
