Unable to push client to Windows 2008 R2 Server

I was tasked with installing Sophos on two new 2008 R2 SP1 servers today and for some reason when I tried to push the install, it wouldn't do anything. The status in EC would just show the orange down arrow. After looking a bit closer, the scheduled task wasn't even being created on the target server.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the push install to work ?

Thanks!

  • Hello torpy,

I'd expect that eventually the arrow disappears and SEC displays an error. Likely some setting on the servers is the cause. Basically you have two options:

    1. Troubleshoot the issue (which can be tedious)
    2. Install by some other means (e.g. manually on the server)

Unless there's a convincing reason for using Protect Computers I'd go for 2.

If you insist to push the install please see (for example) articles  11004415027 and  62730 and also this post by Jak.
