Macintosh, cannot upgrade from v8 to v9

Sophos Enterprise Console 5.2.1 R2. Software Subcription and Update Policy are set to "9 Recommended" for Macs. We are using an IIS Web Server as the Primary Server

Checking the logs on a PC shows that they are successfully getting their updates from the IIS server

When checking the logs on a Mac we see this:

Error: Could not contact primary server http://sophos.victorschools.org/CIDs/S000/ESCOSX at 18:45 on 10 March 2014

Server was not available

The Macs are still sitting at version 8.0.23. We are thinking they are not getting upgraded to version 9 due to the fact they cannot hit this IIS server. We followed the directions in this article for setting up our IIS server

Any ideas why the Macs will not upgrade to version 9?

I already found that thread and checked these items including letting files with no extension be used in IIS. I did open a ticket with Sophos support. They had me run their diagnostic utility against the Sophos server, one Mac client, and one PC client and send the the files. I am waiting to hear back

Well as long as Mac v9 is downloading OK into the share on the server, and SUM is writing the updates to the correct folder...that only leaves IIS not being correctly set up.

MIME Types is a common cause...

...but you say that's been checked (fully?) so maybe we can move on. Did you see the final post on the thread below by QC about a simply dot (not the hotfix part)?

May be review how a webCID should be set up and the information on troubleshooting IIS in...

You can't browse the path to the server, which is fine for normal everyday security. However you may want to consider opening the folder up for testing while you have the problem so you can actually see what's at the end of that path.
