Joking aside. For the computers managed (all the installation, not only Sophos) by us the rate of such errors is less than 1% per year. In the majority of cases the issue is not with Sophos alone but caused by some quirk which affects other components as well. And while the error might be correctable as far as Sophos is concerned it's better to tackle the underlying problem.
It's perhaps a matter of taste but I'd use a brute force uninstall (whatever that signifies exactly) as one of the last resorts and only after at least partially assessing the problem. Whether Microsoft's Fix-It or a third party's product, they can't guarantee to revert the machine to a clean state - and they can't prevent further occurrences if there is a "systematic" cause.
