SEC Console Upgraded to 5.2.2 - All policies disappeared

is it "just" the policies which disappeared while endpoints and groups are there or is everything gone?

looks like the database upgrade failed (or hasn't been attempted at all). Are the endpoints already appearing in the Unassigned group? If the Update Manager configuration is missing as well it's best to stop the Sophos services until the database has been upgraded.

Hi Christian,

I didn't received any messages to say then DB upgrade failed, and in fact when I checked the SQL Management Studio I can see there is a DB named SOPHOS52 as well as a different DB named SOPHOS51 (the old one with all of the information).

Any other suggestion on how to move the contents?

Hello Karl,

the (attempted) upgrade should be recorded in the Sophos_Server64msi log, search for  UpgradeDB.exe -sourceVersion=51.

Dunno what could have gone wrong. Anyway, Manually creating the Sophos databases ... describes how to re-create the new database (it drops the one apparently created by the installer) and Using the UpgradeDB.exe tool ... describes how to migrate the data, it's pretty straightforward. You did back up your SOPHOS51 database, didn't you?

Thanks for the feedback. 

I ended up uninstalling 522 after backing up the databases, re-installing 51 and re-importing the databases and so I am back to square one, but it is working at least.

Next steps is to upgrade once again.  I'll keep this post up to date with the results.
