Migrating enterprise console 4.5 to a new server

I am tasked to migrate or setup a new enterprise console on a new server which is running windows 2008.

current version is 4.5.1.0 on windows 2003.

i have abt 300 workstations on the console.

my boss is telling me that he believed the current EC 4.5 is compromised.

is it a good way for me to install the latest version which is 5.2 on the new server and setup everything from scatch ??

or should I migrate to 4.5 and then upgrade to 5.2 ??

  • Hello yeowkm,

all the information is in the database. You can neither selectively export/import "parts" of the database nor import policies (which you can export as XML files) with the following exceptions:

Windows exclusions for On-Access from the AV policy

    (a complete) Firewall configuration

    Data Control rules

Which policies/rules are you thinking of? Unless you have an, if I may say so, excessive amount re-creating them is not a Herculean effort and is a good opportunity to revise them to accord with the latest features and recommendations.
