I am trying to reinstall the enterprise console over again to change the user and password used for the db. For some reason the install constantly fails. Any ideas?

Jak,
Yeah, the keys look like this (currently) -
DatabaseUserDomain - [domain1]
DatabaseUserName - administrator
DatabaseUserPassword - [password]
UseClearText - 0x00000001 (1)
The reason we want to change it is that it was created using the 'administrator' account instead of a 'sophosadmin' account. When I change it to the obfuscated password (I got the same as the one you listed) and change the (UseClearText to 0) I can't start up the management service and get the following error in app log.
Event 8004, Sophos Management Service
Initialization failed.
Step: Creating a database connection
Error: std::runtime_error
Data: createAccessToken: LogonUser failed
I'm baffled if the account is staying the same, i.e. Administrator, the only difference being you're using an obfuscated form of the password.
If you change it back to the clear text it works again, so it's not like the account is the problem, i.e. locked, etc..
If you set the password to the Administrator account to "password" and use the string I generated that should work.
You might have to call Support I'm afraid.
Regards,
Jak
Thx jak.
I'm not to keen on reinstalling Sophos (prob what support will want me to do). It's not causing any issues per se. It'll just be one of those things we keep in mind when we change the Administrator password. Changing it right now to test Sophos is not an option.
