  • Hello Manuel,

assuming that you are using a stand alone version:
If you are new to the product it is the best to set the firewall policy to "interactive" working mode:

    1. open "Sophos Endpoint Security and Control" (to be found at your system tray)
    2. Go to firewall settings
    3. use tab "General"
    4. Primary location "Allow all traffic" should normally be unchecked
    5. click to "Configure"  causes open a window "Primary location"
    6. use tab "General"
    7. in "Working mode" check "Interactive" mode

This will be the result: The firewall is now asking what to do for every program or application that want to have access to the network.

Take your time to check these applications if it is necessary to allow access to the internet (f.e.).

If you start your email client afterwards you will get some dialog boxes popping up. There you can enter if this application is allowed in general and then you can enter either generel access or specify the rules to be used.

    Cheers
