Windows installer not getting downloaded..

Hi Team,

With your help we were able to add all our linux servers to Sophos enterprise console. Now we are facing a new issue. I want to install Sophos AV on the server on which enterprise console is running. But I am not able to do that. After I click on protect computer option from enterprise console, I get the error : Applied software subscription does not contain software this computer can use. This is a win 2008 server. Can you please let me know the process to install AV on this server and manage it through enterprise console. I also can not see windows installer in the updates folder. This location has linux installer in it.

Attached is the error screenshot.

Regards,

Shinoj.

  • Hello Shinoj,

did you select the Windows product (in addition to the Linux version) in the subscription (Recommended - or have you added one)? Please note that you can select products for several platforms in a single subscription. Once SUM has completed the download and deployment there will be a SAVSCFXP folder besides savlinux.

  • Hi,

Thanks for that. Now I am getting errorcode 0000002e .

I checked everything on the link : http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/29287.aspx

Task Scheduler, Remote Registry, Windows Installer are all started and set to start automatically. Please note that I am trying to install on local server.

I also tried installing from savscfxp folder but it gives "Wrong OS" error.

    Thanks in advance,

    Shinoj.

  • Hello Shinoj,

there's nothing special in "self-protection" and on a vanilla OS install it usually works without problems. But ...

installing from savscfxp folder but it gives "Wrong OS" error

is strange. So you've tried to run setup.exe from the share (or local folder) and you didn't get as far as the GUI? Or? Could you perhaps post a screenshot of the error message?
