Sophos Policy update issue

HI I am giving solution to one of my existing client and facing issues in sophos policy update

have installed sophos endpoint protection for business on 2k8 edition and its working in local environment. For remote users we have allowed all ports and services on sophos server ( remote users can login and download package) till here everything is fine.

Issue : 1. Remote users are not registering on enterprise console or not showing in unmanaged computers.

2. Due to above mentioned issue could not apply policy to control USB or webfilter

have installed sophos AV directly from server (sophos AV server) only. It able to connect to the server and fetch updates too.

please provide some solution on the same ASAP so we could make POC successful.

    remote management requires the server's ports 8192 and 8194 to be accessible from the clients (and ideally the server should be able to contact the clients on port 8194).

    I have check and allowed all ports and services to remote computer 8192 and 8194 port are accessible from computer.

    but still remote agent machine is not showing in sophos console due to same I could not apply policy.

    Hope to have resolution fast as I  clock tick faster specially if its POC and end client respect more on faster response.

  • Hello se_ure,

    telnet server 8192 from a cmd window on the client should return a "funny" string, telnet server 8194 should connect and treminate if you press a key. This to check whether the client can actually contact the server.
