Sophos Endpoint Upgrade to v10 : No Internet connection

I am currently using Sophos Endpoint Security and Control version 9.5. (Sophos Enterprise Console 4.5.1.0) The system I am using does not have an Internet connection so on a regular basis I have to manually download the Sophos Warehouse from another system which is on-line and then paste the Warehouse into my SophosUpdateManagaer share.

This seems to work OK and gives me up to date .ide files etc. whenever I do the copy.

Will this be all I have to do to get the Sophos Endpoint v10 ?

Thanks Peter Turvey

  • Hello Peter,

    • to use a certain endpoint version you subscribe to it on the "receiving" end
    • a SUM only downloads these parts of the Sophos Warehouse it "thinks" it needs (it has no knowledge that you use the Warehouse as a source for another SUM). Thus your "providing" end (i.e. the direct source and its source in turn) must also have a subscription to the desired version
    • the Sophos Warehouse "feeds" a SEC/SUM (I use this combined term as on a management server these two are an integrated whole) with metadata, software and data applicable to the SEC/SUM's version, license (derived from the credentials) and subscription. Therefore also all the participating consoles must be on the same level

Now I assume that the forthcoming automatic upgrade to v.10 will be channeled through to your air-gapped console (i.e. it will also "magically" have the subscription changed) unless you have deliberately subscribed to a fixed or Extended Maintenance version.
