PC or server?

Hello,

I was wondering, we're having about 400 machines at work. Is it really necessary to have the 'server' installed on a real server, or would it also be possible to run it on a workstation? Those 400 pc's are never running together.

    For the moment I'm testing it on a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system (4GB), with about 30 machines and daily about 20 online. This without any problems. At this point we're using only Linux servers. SO if we would need a server we'll need to buy also our calls.
