Feature Request

Hi,

would someone be able to tell me how I can submit a feature request? I couldn't find any proper way of doing so, unless I log a support ticket.

I would like to request more granular control for managing the Roles in the Sophos Enterprise Console. I want to enable our Service Desk to be able to do cleanup operations (which can be done with roles), but I also want them to be able to install/re-install the client on workstations.

However this falls under the role "Computer search, protection and groups", which also enabled them to:

Find computers.
Import computers from a file.
Import computers and containers from Active Directory.
Synchronize a group with Active Directory.
Change group synchronization properties and remove group synchronization.
Protect computers.
Move and delete computers.
Create, rename, move and delete groups.
Assign policies to groups.

Our Security Team is currently responsible for managing groups, application control, AD synchs, etc...

In short, I want them to be able to Protect Computers but not do anything else this group allows to.

    Is there a way to be in the loop of what is going to be added in the next version? Or would these then only be available through the Release Notes when the product is actually out?

    I would like this feature as well. Sure it's very easy if you have a properly configured console for one person to push a deployment, but in our setup we have multiple techs in different districts that need to deploy to machines without potentially changing the structure we've put into place.

    Hi,

    thanks for your feature request, as previously mentioned we will shortly be introducing a feature request system that will allow customers to submit requests and vote for requests to help guage demand for features. Regarding more granular role based admin this is a popularly requested feasture that has a high priority for the next main Sophos Enterprise Console release (v5.3), as yet we are not at the planning stage for this so I cannot provide any detailed timeframe.

    I'm wondering, if "we will shortly be introducing a feature request system" was two years ago to my original question, and if this is not yet in place, I wouldn't have much hope to actually get this at all.
