Enterprise Console 5.1.0 Report Manager Crashes

Hello,

When I try to run a report each week on all the clients to check if any viruses have been logged Enterprise Console completly crashes when I press on create report button.

My other servers work fine and bring up the report ok. Just having a problem with this particular server. I thought upgrading the console might cure the problem but it is still happening.

Does it need any additional software to run the report?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Adam.

  • Hi,

When you say the other servers, are they running remote consoles pointing at the same management server?

They can create reports ok?  So the problem is just with one remote console?

Does the server running this remote console have any other products that use Crystal Reports?

    Are there multiple versions under:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Business Objects\

    tree "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Business Objects"

Folder PATH listing for volume OSDisk
Volume serial number is 000000B8 F861:B078
    C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\COMMON FILES\BUSINESS OBJECTS
    └───3.0
        ├───bin
        │ └───Cache
        └───crystalreportviewers11
            ├───ActiveXControls
            └───prompting
                ├───css
                ├───html
                ├───images
                └───js

  • Hi Jak,

    Thanks for your reply.

The other servers are on different sites and have their own installation of Sophos Enterprise Console and work on their own.

I have checked the business objects directory and it only has the one instance of 3.0 like in your diagram.

When I press on Run report the whole Enterprise console just dissapears and it dumps me back to my desktop on the server.

    Thanks

    Adam

  • OK,

In that case I would ping Support (Support@sophos.com) an email.  Ask them for the management server trace registry keys to trace what the console is doing when you re-produce the problem.  This will create a trace log file.

This will be the best course of action to understanding the underlying cause for the crash.

    Regards,

    Jak
