Hard disk constantly thrashing

Does anyone else have this problem?  As soon as I installed Endpoint protection, my HDD has been thrashing.  The light has not gone off for a week or so!  This is really slowing my computer down. Is there any way to avoid it?

  • I guess it might be worth seeing if disabling the Windows Search or cutting down on what it indexes helps?  Probably best to disable it just to see if that is indeed the problem.

I suppose as the indexer touches files, SAV may be inclined to scan them?  I can't say I've had to touch it and seeing as it's on by default and others haven't mentioned it to be a problem, it could just be that there are certain files on your machine that cause the issue or your indexing more or files are changing more often.  Might be worth using Process Monitor as well to see what might be going on in terms of "hot" files.
