Retiring NON-AD devices from Console

Hi,

We have an ever increasing number of devices in our console that are no longer active due to replacement or failure. Does anyone know if there is a way of having the Enterprise Console work to a cut off date of last contact and delete the device?

We don't use Active Directory so can't re-sync and I don't fancy trawling the console for dead devices!!

Neil.

  • If a computer is deleted from the console (as opposed deleted/purged from the database) it is only marked as deleted. It is neither displayed nor considered for management but it exists with all its associations: group it belonged to, history, alerts and so on. When it contacts the console again it will reappear in its original group - but if this group no longer exists it ends up in Unassigned.
If it was deleted from the database it will reincarnate in Unassigned.
