  • Hi,

Is this a statement or a question? :)

Are you having problems removing the software due to tamper protection or have discovered that if the SAV service is stopped tamper protection is disabled?

  • I want to know why this happened?

If we use Tamper Protection, why we can bypass it simply?

  • How do I: understanding Tamper Protection says:

Tamper protection enables you to prevent unauthorized users (users with limited technical knowledge) and known malware from uninstalling Sophos security software or disabling it through the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control interface.

    and

Note: Tamper protection is not designed to protect against users with extensive technical knowledge.

What you are expecting is that administrative powers are wrestled from administrators - in another context this is called rootkit.

  • Hello I want to disable Sophos from my laptop, Windows 8.1. But I need to disable Tamper Protection first, I need a password to do that, but I never got a password. And I also contact the Sophos Support email and the say that my user name has not been recognized in the Sophos system. What can or should I do. I'm lost and I just want to remove Sophos from my laptop.

  • Hello 123Marloes,

(I refrain from asking why you just want to remove it) TP is only deliberately enabled. It's not automagically set during install and in no way related to the license or even known to Sophos. Who installed the Sophos software or where did you get it from?
