Global Base Policy to Allow PUA?

This seems obvious, but I can't find anything in the KB telling me how to do this.  Our RMM Tool (LabTech) heavily utilizes PsExec.  As we are rolling this out to our customers we are having to allow this PUA on every customer.  Seems like I should be able to modify a global base policy, and that this policy will be the one that every customer starts out with.  How can I do this?

  • Hi Jacob,

I would like to know, are you using On-Premises or Central?

If you are using Central, follow Global Scanning Exclusions.

Note: These exclusions will apply to all your users (and their devices) and servers. If you want them to apply only to certain users or servers, use the scanning exclusions in the policies instead.

  • I am using Sophos Central Admin, nothing is on-prem.  Not sure what I was looking at before but I got to the right place with that article.  I think I got the policy and the system settings confused.

    System Settings = global, Policy = customer/user/device?

  • Actually, it doesn't appear that what I did accomplished my goal.  Maybe I just need to open a support ticket.  This is super frustrating as this shouldn't be this hard to figure out.

  • Hi Jacob,

You are doing it right, it is under the System Settings only. You do not have to go to Policies.

I have attached a screenshot for your reference.

  • Hmmm...how do I get to where you are?  Maybe I don't have the permissions I need (even though I am the only administrator for my company?).  I assume you are getting through Sophos Central Partner portal? (and not customer admin portal).  I have no idea how to get to that Endpoint Protection overview based on what I am seeing.

  • With the screenshot, I see that you are logged in as a partner. You can still perform the Global Scanning Exclusions, but one customer at a time. You would have to open a particular customer's Sophos Central console(Click on Sophos Central Customers under Sophos Central) and follow the screen shot below.

    1. Under My Products click on Endpoint Protection.

    2. Then click on Settings under configure.

    3. Click on Global Scanning Exclusions under Endpoint protection from the right hand side.

    4. Click on Add Exclusion.
