Windows 10 upgrade hangs until Sophos uninstalled

Instead of uninstalling Sophos, we will need to find the exact component which can be causing the issue here. Please follow the steps listed in this article and see if there is any of the Sophos components which can be the reason here. You might also need to check for the Procmon logs to see which process is involved.

However it would be nice to be able to script this. I suspect that if I use the tamper protection and then disable the components for 4 hours the upgrade will work just fine without the need to uninstall - is there a way to do this automatically

Unfortunately, there is no script to do this automatically, we will need to manually disable component as stated in the article.
