Sophos Central Email Notifications

Hi,

 

Prior to rolling this setup out to 40+ VM's and a few hosts I wanted to test the installation and setup. Therefore I have setup SecurityVM for ESXi on one of the Hosts and installed a Guest VM to link to it. Sophos Central reports this OK.

To test real time scanning, I created the eicar-av-test.com file and executed it and surely enough, Sophos central detected it and cleaned it. The issue is that no email was sent to the administrator.

I have enabled this under Admin -> Global Settings -> General -> Alert Email Settings -> Enabled.

What am i missing from the setup?

    In that setting, have you checked at the top 

    Choose Enabled to receive an email notification every time an alert occurs or Disabled to receive one alert email by alert type per day.

     

    I know by default that if this isn't checked, you will only get 1 alert per 24hr period for each "type" IE a virus alert, services not starting etc.

     

    I've recieved them in the past and have the same settings as you, so if not that, I am not 100% sure what could cause you not to get one.
