Uninstall Sophos Ant-Virus v8 without removal tool

I want to remove Sophos AVv8 from my MAc, but don't have the removal tool as I (stupidly) deleted all the Sophos files from my mac in an earlier attempt to uninstall. I got Sophos as a free download via my university, which I left a year ago, so no longer have the license info etc.

Is there any other way of uninstalling Sophos?

You could try reinstalling the version you originally had installed (run the installer from your uni again over the top). You don't say whether you still have that.

There is the SophosRemove.tgz linked on this thread...

..but that may not work though you can give it a try.

Otherwise does version 9 not install over the top of the existing half-install?
