Hi there, Ive downloaded V8.0.1 for Mac - Ive searched and not got a removal app, ive not deleted anything and i am unable to remove the application please can you advise how this can be done?

    I had the "x" in the shield icon and found that the autoupdate was not running, so I tried everything to remove Sophos Home Edition (free) for mac from my iMac.  The removal tool provided by Sophos returned "The uninstallation process failed with exit code 1"

    After nothing else worked I tried AppCleaner which I have use to remove apps in the past.  I thought it would not work on an antivirus as Sophos' own removal tool did not work, but to my surprise AppCleaner worked great.  I removed Sophos and Sophos removal tool then I was able to reinstall Sophos (free) with no problem.  I found info about appcleaner here: http://lifehacker.com/5828738/the-best-app-uninstaller-for-mac

    Hope this helps others.  I was stumped for days.
