I added Sophos to my Mac 7-10 days ago. Powerbook running 10.8.2 (Mtn. Lion) and very latest version of Sophos for Mac home ed.
I have never been able to do a complete scan. The process locks up. Each time i try scan local drives, the number of files to scan varies wildly. 600K one time, 2.1M the next etc. At first i thought the scan was completed because the scan window disappeared but the next time i tried a manual scan, got a message indicating that the scan had never been done before.
- What does a completed scan look like? Is there a summary window?
- If there is malware here, could that cause the program to hang up and/or freeze?
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled once.
This program came highly recommended. Wanted to trial it to see if it would work for myself and some other individuals I know. So far, no good.
