New Version 8...

I have been using Sophos for Mac for awhile now and I just checked. I have version 7.3.10C. I clicked on Update Now and it says it is updated but I do not have version 8. Can you please tell me why and what I should do?

I see that Version 8 is out...

New Version 8 now available! Even more full-featured with scheduled scanning, Live Anti-Virus and a new look and feel. If you're an existing user, you don't need to do anything—you'll be updated automatically.

    I just received an answer from an employee of Sophos whom I e-mailed earlier.

    Here is his answer to me...

    ...and here's a summary.

    IIRC, autoupdate for home users from 7 to 8 will happen some time during the month of May. So you can simply wait if you want.

    Or you can be an early adopter: just download once again from http://www.sophos.com/freemacav (noting that the download is now called savosx_80_he.dmg) and run the installer. 

    You don't need to uninstall the old version first, and there's no forced reboot.
