Sophos detected a threat (OSX/VSearch-A), but when I went to Quarantine Manager, I was unable to open the lock in order to clean up the threat. Why would it not unlock?

Sorry, should have added the extra bits.
Opening the Quarantine Manager from the pop-up means one can't unlock the padlock.
Quitting Sophos and launching it from /Applications, going to Quarantine Manager and clicking the padlock produces an authentication prompt.
I have just tried logging out and back in again and, when the file is touched and the pop-up appears, that produces a Quarantine Manager window with the padlock already unlocked.
I was working with the eicar file, in zipped form. In fact, I have just cleaned up the "Virus", quitted Sophos and re-unzipped the eicar file. Now touching the file doesn't even prompt the Quarantine Manager to appear! However, opening Sophos there is an exclamation in the Quarantine Manager button and there is the eicar file awaiting attention.
I don't think this is satisfactory.
We are running Version 9.1.6 and it is not Home Edition.
