Scsn is slow, seems to be stopped

The scan hasn't moved, and says "archive.pax.gz" in the scanning window. What does this mean?

  • You can choose to exclude compressed files from scanning to speed up scans.

Malware can't run from inside a zip file so scanning of compressed files isn't a strong requirement - the malware would first have to be extracted to run and then it's an uncompressed file and will be scanned with the default seetings
