Uninstalling old version Failure of installation

Hello

By trying to install the new Sophos home edition version on my MacBook OS 10.5.8. I get the message that an older version of Sophos is installed.
I thought I had uninstalled it, and can not find it anymore.

Have any one a suggestion of what I can do?

  • If you look at the page where you can download the Windows version of the Enterprise product, about half way down are the links to the downloads for the Mac Enterprise product  The first Mac version is for use with the Management Console, the second is a stand-alone version that does not require the Management Console.  This is the one you would install to clean up old installations of SAV Enterprise.

However, if you have never installed the Enterprise product, installing the trial and uninstalling it is not likely to help.  The instructions for doing this are for users who have remnants of the Enterprise product installed already, but no longer have the uninstaller -- which prevents them from both uninstalling the Enterprise version and from installing the Home version.

I'll have to leave it to someone else to answer your real question; however, you might want to restart, do a filesystem check, and repair permissions.
