This scan has never been completed!!

I downloaded the Mac version and ran a local drive scan. STOP at around 438,xxx remaining and indicated "This scan has never been completed". I clicked on "scan now", it would start scanning at around 470,xxx remaining and stopped again

Uninstalled and installed AGAIN, ran another scan, and same thing happened. but this time ran more files......

NEED HELP!

    HI, I have never been able to complete a scan, updates download, but scan starts and stops within a few seconds saying no threats detected. this scan has never been completed. 10.4.11 with 8.0.22c. The update version, can we just not download the update rather than wait for it to come through ?
