new to Sophos

I just tried program for first time. When I asked it to do local scan, it started and suddenly stopped scan. I tried again and same thing happened. How do I get a complete local scan?

    How did you try to start the Scan? A single click on the "Play" button should do it. 

    You could maybe try Starting the "Scan Local Drives" via a one the alternative options, such as selecting Scan Local Drives from the "Scan" Menu on the menu bar. 

    If the same thing happens again, you could view the Scan Log - via the View Scan Log option, on the Scan menu.

    The first thing I tried after installing SAV was to run the 'Scan Local Drives' options, which ran O.K. - counting down normally through several thousand files - then just stopped, after a few hours, about a quarter of the way through.  I left it 'running' overnight and it was still at the same point this morning with several thousand files still to scan!

    I tried running the custom scan on a couple of user accounts and, although it hesitated at a few points, it did complete the scans.

    Please advise me.
